Combatting Heat Problems in Gaskets

Heat is the enemy of your engine. It causes gaskets to wear out, which can cause fluids to leak from your engine. There is little that you can do about the heat from your engine, but there is something that you can do to prevent leaks by purchasing better gaskets.

Many cars come with rubber gaskets as standard from the factory. There are some exceptions, and you will have to do some research about your particular car. Replacing rubber gaskets with either multilayered steel or solid copper can help prolong the life of your gaskets. These metals resist the heat better than rubber. This upgrade can preserve the life of your engine through reducing the chances for fluid leakage.
